3D Modelling and Animation
3D Modelling and animating within 3DS Max are single-threaded tasks. This means that the processes of extruding polygons, manipulating vertices and animating only use one CPU core. These types of task are frequency bound meaning performance is tied to the frequency of the CPU. If you primarily use 3DS Max for modelling or animation, don’t waste time or money on a workstation with multiple CPU cores as these will not be utilised. A 3D modelling workstation with a single high frequency CPU will benefit your workflow. We recommend our safely overclocked APEXX 2 workstations along with our APEXX 4 systems.
Recommended SystemsAPEXX 2 and APEXX 4
Rendering 3D assets is a highly multi-threaded process. This translates to mean that the more CPU cores in your workstation the better. Ideally when using a rendering workflow, it is recommended to offload your rendering. This will prevent your workstation from becoming unproductive, tying it up with rendering final sequences or images. BOXX offers unique solution for dedicated, desk-side rendering including the renderPro. If you rely more heavily on GPU rendering then consider our APEXX 4 or 5 with multiple full size GPUs.
Recommended SystemsAPEXX 4 and APEXX 5 (for GPU rendering) and renderPro2 for a dedicated desk-side rendering solution.
